Produced in Joyo, Kyoto by Hekisuien — a historic Japanese tea house established in 1867 — Shien (紫苑), named after the delicate purple aster flower, is a premium ceremonial-grade Uji matcha crafted from a carefully selected blend of Saemidori, Asahi, and Uji Hikari cultivars. Rooted in generations of Japanese tea craftsmanship, this matcha embodies the richness and elegance of traditional Uji tea culture.

This matcha is exceptionally creamy, full-bodied, and naturally sweet, with rich notes of avocado, roasted macadamia, and buttery asparagus. Delicate hints of dark chocolate and cacao complement its pronounced umami, creating a velvety texture and a smooth, lingering finish. Perfect for koicha (thick tea) or usucha (thin tea), Shien delivers a beautifully layered flavour that reveals its depth and complexity with every sip.

Velvety, rich, and deeply refined — this matcha is crafted for those who appreciate exceptional creaminess, complex flavours, and a luxurious tea experience.

Cultivars: Asahi, Uji Hikari
Origin: Joyo, Kyoto, Japan
Harvest Season: First Harvest (Ichibancha)
Net Weight: 30g
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture.
