Welcome to MATCHA MATCHA STUDIO

Welcome to MATCHA MATCHA STUDIO

Welcome to MM Studio: A Space for Matcha Workshops, Tastings and More

There is much more to matcha than the everyday cup.

Behind its vivid green colour and distinctive flavour is a world shaped by cultivation, craftsmanship, technique, and time. MM Studio was created to bring people closer to that world through matcha workshops, guided tastings, hands-on preparation, thoughtfully selected retail products, and a special weekend drink menu.

Located at 11 Fairburn Drive, Unit 8, Markham, MM Studio offers a welcoming place to learn, taste, shop, and connect, whether you are discovering matcha for the first time or already prepare it every day.

Discover Matcha Through Workshops and Tastings

At MM Studio, matcha is not simply something to order. It is something to explore.

Our matcha workshops and tasting experiences introduce guests to the many qualities that make each tea unique. By paying attention to aroma, texture, sweetness, bitterness, and umami, visitors can begin to recognize the character of different matcha powders.

No previous knowledge is required. Our experiences are created for beginners, experienced matcha drinkers, and anyone curious about Japanese tea culture.

Learn How to Prepare Matcha

Some things are best understood by doing.

During our hands-on matcha workshops, guests can learn how to prepare their own bowl while developing a deeper appreciation for the details involved. Water temperature, proportions, whisking technique, and the choice of tools can all influence the final taste and texture.

Our goal is not simply to teach one preparation method. We want to help each guest feel more confident, attentive, and connected to the matcha they make.

Explore the Craft Behind Every Bowl

Every bowl of matcha carries a much larger story.

That story begins in the tea fields and continues through harvesting, steaming, drying, refining, blending, and stone-milling. Many of the decisions that define the quality and flavour of matcha happen long before the package is opened.

MM Studio creates opportunities to learn from tea producers, craftspeople, and industry professionals. By sharing their knowledge, we hope to make the often unseen work behind matcha more visible.

Our first workshop, The Invisible Craft, reflects this approach. Led by the Horiishichimeien team from Uji, Kyoto, the experience explores how tea is refined, evaluated, and blended before being stone-milled into matcha.

Shop Matcha Powders, Tea Tools and More

In addition to workshops, MM Studio includes a curated matcha retail area.

Visitors can shop a carefully selected collection of matcha powders, preparation tools, teaware, and other matcha-related products. Whether you are creating your first matcha setup, exploring a new tea, or searching for a thoughtful gift, our retail selection can help you continue your matcha experience at home.

Every item is selected with purpose. Our collection reflects the same values as the studio itself: quality, craftsmanship, approachability, and a genuine appreciation for matcha.

Enjoy Our Special Weekend Matcha Menu

MM Studio also serves a focused weekend menu built around matcha.

Instead of offering an extensive café menu, we keep our selection small and intentional. Guests can choose their preferred matcha powder, allowing them to experience how different teas can change the aroma, flavour, texture, and overall character of a drink.

Each item is prepared to keep matcha at the centre of the experience. The menu offers a simple way to taste, compare, and discover a new favourite.

All of these experiences belong here.
