Created by Shoyeido, Kyoto’s renowned incense house with over 300 years of craftsmanship, this fragrance began with an unexpected encounter: a memorable cup of roasted tea prepared by Horii Shichimeien that left a lasting impression on Shoyeido’s incense blender.

While developing fragrances inspired by Horii’s tea gardens in Uji, the team found themselves drawn back to that first experience and asked a simple question: What would Horii Shichimeien itself smell like?

The result is a fragrance that captures the essence of the brand itself, honouring the inherited values of Uji tea while embracing new expressions for the future. Fresh yet grounded, refined yet quietly modern, it is a scent shaped by tea fields, earth, craftsmanship, and thoughtful experimentation.
